How to stamp a PDF

Privacy and compatibility

What stays in your PDF

Existing pages are not rasterized or reordered. Text stays text and scans stay images. Forms, bookmarks and annotations are kept when possible. Pages outside your selection receive no stamp.

Check special features

Saving invalidates existing digital signatures. Complex interactive features may behave differently; annotations and form fields can display above the stamp. This tool does not remove metadata or sanitize PDFs.

Browser and file limits

Encrypted and unreadable PDFs cannot be processed. Large or complex files may exceed browser memory. Cancel stops processing; reset clears selections and downloads. Each run starts from the original PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does text remain editable?

The new text stamp is a transparent image drawn using DejaVu Sans, Serif or Mono and browser font fallback. It is not selectable text. Original PDF text remains unchanged. Check uncommon glyphs and small text in the preview; font support varies.

How are rotated pages handled?

Position and clockwise rotation refer to the displayed page. The mark fits inside each page’s visible crop, including mixed sizes and existing quarter-turn rotations.

Why can a stamp be invisible?

Zero opacity adds no visible stamp. Transparent images and colors matching page content may also be invisible. Raise opacity or use a contrasting color and check the result.

Is the PDF compressed or uploaded?

No upload occurs. Stamping is not compression and may enlarge the file. Your selected files remain in browser memory.
