Size is relative to each page, so large and small pages look alike. The rotated mark fits inside the page with a 5% margin; 100% fills that area in one direction.

Count from the first page as 1, regardless of printed labels. Repeated pages are marked once.

The watermark is ordinary page content drawn over each page. Anyone with a PDF editor can remove it; it does not protect, lock or redact the PDF.

How it works

Choose, adjust, download

Choose one PDF. The default DRAFT mark is applied straight away and the saved result is shown. Change the text or image, opacity, size, rotation, position or pages and the preview updates by itself. Download when it looks right.

What stays in your PDF

Existing pages are not rasterized or reordered: text stays selectable and scans stay images. Links, bookmarks, form fields, annotations and document properties are kept. Pages outside your selection receive no watermark.

Check special features

Saving invalidates existing digital signatures. Annotations and form fields display above the watermark. This tool does not remove metadata or sanitize PDFs, and the watermark can be removed again with a PDF editor.

Browser and file limits

Password-protected and unreadable PDFs cannot be processed. Very large or complex files may exceed browser memory; your file and settings are kept when that happens. Each update starts from the original PDF, so marks never stack.

Frequently asked questions

Does text remain editable?

The new text watermark is a transparent image drawn using DejaVu Sans and browser font fallback, so any language or emoji your browser can show is drawn. It is not selectable text. Original PDF text remains unchanged. Check uncommon glyphs and small text in the preview; font support varies.

How are rotated pages handled?

Position and clockwise rotation refer to the displayed page. The mark fits inside each page’s visible crop, including mixed sizes and existing quarter-turn rotations.

Why can a watermark be invisible?

Zero opacity adds no visible watermark. Transparent images and colors matching page content may also be invisible. Raise opacity or use a contrasting color and check the result.

Is the PDF compressed or uploaded?

No upload occurs. Watermarking is not compression and makes the file slightly larger; the mark is stored once and reused on every page. Your selected files remain in browser memory.
