Perceptual luminance is 0.2126 × red + 0.7152 × green + 0.0722 × blue of each rendered pixel, so green looks lightest and blue darkest. Average is (red + green + blue) ÷ 3.
Selected pages become images. Their text can no longer be selected or searched, and their links and form fields are removed. The file is usually larger. The rebuilt PDF does not keep bookmarks, document properties such as title and author, document-level forms, attachments or signature validity. Unselected pages are copied without rasterizing; their internal links may stop working.

Frequently asked questions
Are unselected pages changed?
Their existing page content, color, crop and rotation are copied without raster conversion. The output is a new PDF: document-level forms, bookmarks, attachments and signature validity are not retained, and internal links may no longer work. Compare pages before using the result.
Will this reduce file size?
Not necessarily. Rasterizing text or vector pages can make the file larger. The result reports actual input/output size differences. If selected rendered pages already have equal RGB channels, it reports no color change; those pages are still rasterized.
What does conversion preserve?
Selected pages use their visible crop, rotation and physical dimensions. The tool renders visible content and saved annotation/form appearances on white, then pixels become gray and are stored without lossy compression as single-channel (DeviceGray) images. Rotated pages are stored upright as they appear. Text is no longer searchable on those pages. Fine detail depends on your chosen DPI; missing fonts or unusual appearances can differ. Form scripts are not run.
Which PDFs and browsers work?
Use a current browser. Password-protected PDFs require the password and all pages selected; use a decrypted copy to keep unselected pages. XFA forms need a static PDF export first. There is no fixed file/page cap; actual browser memory and rendering support determine what can finish. Cancel stops processing.
Does my PDF leave this device?
Files and passwords stay in browser memory. Processing runs in your browser; files, passwords and names are not uploaded or persisted by this tool. Reset clears the current selection and output.
