How it works

Good to know
Standard AcroForm fields are supported. Flat scans and XFA forms need a different editor.
Rebuilt fields may use a different font. PDF calculations do not run, and saving changes invalidates digital signatures.
Frequently asked questions
Which fields can I fill?
Standard AcroForm text fields, checkboxes, radio groups, dropdowns and lists. The tool respects read-only flags, field maximum lengths and allowed choices. Signature, button, radio fields with incomplete appearance mappings, and rich-only fields without plain text are preserved and shown as unsupported. This tool fills existing fields; it does not place text over scanned pages or create new form fields.
Which languages and characters work?
The bundled DejaVu Sans font supports many Latin, Greek and Cyrillic characters. Characters missing from that font, control characters and text requiring complex shaping (including Arabic, Hebrew and combining marks) produce an error when their appearance must be rebuilt. Use precomposed accented letters where available. Untouched fields with existing appearances retain their original fonts.
Will the filled form look exactly the same?
Page content is not rasterized. Existing field appearances are preserved unless edited, missing or marked stale by the PDF. Regenerated fields may use a different font and size; edited rich text becomes plain text. Long values can be small and choice lists can require scrolling in a PDF reader. This page shows the field values, not a visual PDF preview. Check the saved file in a PDF reader.
Is the file uploaded or the form submitted?
No. PDF processing runs in your browser, and file contents and field values are not uploaded or stored by this tool. Download the PDF before leaving the page. PDF scripts and calculations are not executed; this tool never submits a form.
Why can’t I fill an encrypted or XFA PDF?
This editor uses standard, unencrypted AcroForm fields. Open an encrypted file in its original application and save an unencrypted copy; export an XFA form to AcroForm where the original application supports it. Resource failures are reported without imposing a file-size or page-count limit.
