Output notes

Every export is a single-frame, 8-bit sRGB PNG at the original oriented dimensions. Source metadata such as EXIF is removed. Animation and extra image pages become one decoded frame; SVG becomes a raster image. Wide-gamut and HDR colors may change. SVG external resources are omitted and missing fonts can change text appearance. The previews show the decoded source and actual output.

PNG can be larger than the original. This tool fills transparency; it does not compress files or remove an existing opaque background.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to semitransparent edges?

Each red, green and blue channel is blended with the background according to its opacity, then the output alpha becomes fully opaque. A half-transparent red pixel on white becomes light red, preserving the soft edge rather than replacing it with white.

What if my image is already opaque?

The result reports that no transparency changed. Decoded pixels remain unchanged, but PNG re-encoding and metadata removal still happen. Keep your original file if you need its original encoding or metadata.

Which images and browsers can I use?

The tool supports TIFF, AVIF, SVG and images your browser can open. PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF are common inputs; support for other formats depends on the browser. Use a current browser that can create PNG images. Unsupported or damaged images show an error. Available browser memory and canvas limits determine the largest usable image.

Can I change the color or stop an export?

Yes. White, black and violet presets, the color picker and the hex field all set the next background. Changing settings hides the previous download until you apply them. Choose White to restore a white background. Cancel & clear terminates the operation and releases its image; select the file again to restart.
