Frequently asked questions

Does this generate new image content?

No. Added space is transparent or one solid color. This is canvas extension, not AI outpainting. It does not generate scenery or continue patterns.

How do dimensions, sides and anchors work?

Canvas dimensions set the complete output size. Each dimension must be at least the source dimension. The nine anchors place the original at an edge, corner or center. If centered spare space is an odd number of pixels, the extra pixel goes to the right or bottom. Add to sides instead sets exact top, right, bottom and left additions; width becomes source width + left + right, and height becomes source height + top + bottom.

Is my original image changed?

The decoded image is not cropped or resized. Solid color fills only the added canvas; transparency inside the source remains transparent. PNG encoding changes file bytes and may increase file size. Native decoding may change color values and transparent-pixel representation. The original file is never modified.

Which images work?

JPEG, PNG, WebP and other formats supported by your browser's native decoder. Compatibility is determined by the contents, not the filename extension. Source orientation is applied. Animated images export as the single decoded frame shown in the preview.

Can I repeat, reset or cancel?

Every export starts from the original decoded frame. Changing any settings removes the previous result until you export again. Reset restores source dimensions, a centered anchor, zero added sides and transparent space. Cancel & clear stops processing and releases the image. You can choose a replacement image at any time.

What are the processing limits?

Available memory, native canvas limits and format support depend on your browser. This tool adds no fixed size cap. Invalid input, missing features and processing failures show an error. After a resource failure, try less added space or a smaller source image.
