The right dimensions, your way.

  1. Choose one image. Open a still JPEG or PNG from your device.
  2. Choose size or percentage. Enter a width and height, or scale both by a percentage. Keep “Maintain aspect ratio” checked to preserve the proportions.
  3. Resize, then download. Check the output dimensions and size. Your original file stays unchanged.

Know the limits

What changes with the size?

  • Still JPEG and PNG only. Supported HDR gain-map JPEGs use the standard SDR image; HDR enhancement is not retained. Animated PNG and JPEGs containing independent photographs or unrecognized auxiliary images are refused. The result keeps the input format.
  • There is no fixed file-size or pixel limit. Very large images or requested dimensions can exceed what your browser can hold in memory or draw; the tool then says so and keeps your image and settings. You can cancel a long run at any time. A requested side can be at most 65,535 pixels, the largest a JPEG can record.
  • JPEG is re-encoded with a fixed quality setting of 92%; it is lossy. PNG keeps transparency, with possible rounding at transparent edges. Pixelated sampling preserves hard edges during scaling.
  • Output is an 8-bit display image. Color profiles may be converted, and 16-bit PNG loses precision. Source metadata, including EXIF, IPTC, XMP and print resolution, is not copied. Orientation is applied to the image.
  • Even unchanged dimensions produce a newly encoded image. The file may become larger; the result reports the actual difference.

Using image resize

How do I avoid stretching my image?

In Size mode, keep “Maintain aspect ratio” checked. Changing either dimension updates the other from the original proportions. Percentage always scales both together. Dimensions are rounded to the nearest whole pixel.

Will a smaller image make a smaller file?

Often, but the output format, image content and original encoding affect the result. This tool reports the actual byte difference and tells you if the new file is larger.

Can I make an image bigger?

Yes. Enter larger dimensions or a percentage above 100. Enlarging adds pixels without recovering detail that was never present.

What stays after I clear or leave?

Clear removes the selected file and download from this page. Leaving releases them too. Only resize settings are saved in this browser when storage is available; file names and image contents are not saved. A downloaded file remains wherever you save it.
